Across My Desk: Have you saved enough for retirement?



If you're one of the many worried about not having enough money saved for retirement, you're not alone.

A recent AARP survey found Californians were overwhelmed by too many choices, confused by prospectus language and not sure where to turn for financial direction and advice.

Additionally, of the 500 interviewed---aged 50 and over---36% had less than $100,000 saved for their golden years.

The survey also reported that Californians found things like car insurance policies and prescriptions drug inserts easier to understand than mutual fund prospectuses. Oh my.

And, six out of 10 would appreciate having someone to talk to about their investing who wasn't trying to sell them something.
