Tax Day Deals
By Dian Vujovich
The late, great American ukulele playing Arthur Godfrey had a saying about taxes: “I’m proud to be paying taxes in the United States. The only things is—I could be just as proud for half the money.”
Think that about says it all.
To quell the impact of your tax burden, help is on the way as a handful of companies are offering deals for today’s loyal payers.
According to a SmartMoney.com story, here’s a look at some places in our neck of the woods where costs have been cut in honor of the day:
-At P.F.Chang’s China Bistro, 15 percent will be taken off your total bill today, April 15.
-Fans of Chick-fil-A might enjoy their Tax Relief Day Special. It allows guests to get a free something-or-other today through April 30. You’ve got to hang on to that receipt to take advantage of the extended deal, however. And, the Chick-fil-A in your neighborhood has to be one participating in the program
-Yum. Yum. Grab some free Cinnabon cinnamon-roll bites from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
-Decide that today is the day to purchase a Jacuzzi and you can save up to $2000 on selected models.
-A discount of $10.40 is available off the entrees at McCormick & Schmick’s today. Guests may also receive a $10.40 Tax Relief Gift Certificate for a future meal.
-You can save $1.89 at Taco Del Mar if you sign up online for a coupon as part of their April 15 “Taxes Suck, Tacos Don’t” promotion.
-Today at T.G.I.Friday’s, spend 15 to 25 bucks and you’ll get a $5 gift card. Spend more than 25 and a $10 gift card can be yours.
-And at Miami’s Area 31 restaurant, diners won’t have to pay the sales tax on their meal.
Guess that makes it a get out and get saving kind of day.
